The owner and operator of the business is Hugh A Latimer (known by his friends and clients as Hal). He is a graduate of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering. He also holds an MBA degree from City University in Seattle, Washington. His experience is with the former Bell System, reaching the position of Vice President and Treasurer (CFO). He was later the president of West Virginia Wesleyan College.

He has been the active owner of a small business and later opened HAL, Inc  for the purpose of providing tax and bookkeeping services. He is an Enrolled Agent, a person licensed by the Internal Revenue Service to provide Tax related services. Becoming an Enrolled Agent requires a good background in tax work and the passing of a two day written examination in tax accounting. He is a Fellow in the National Tax Practice Institute, an organization for advanced study of Tax Representation sponsored by the National Association of Enrolled Agents, of which he is a member.

Hal is also a Quickbooks ProAdvisor for the “Point of Sale” and “Quickbooks Accounting” programs. He has worked with these programs for about 15 years.

The staff consists of persons with good backgrounds in Tax Preparation and bookkeeping. One person has done individual Tax Preparation and managed tax offices for a major corporation. Another is  experienced in bookkeeping, Quickbooks support and helping small businesses establish their accounting systems.
